The Nigeria Para-Military Christian Fellowship says the maiden National Para-Military Fellowship Fire Conference is meant to pray and seek the face of God for a hitch-free Yuletide and 2027 General Elections.
The National Co-ordinator, Nigeria Para-Military Christian Fellowship, Pastor Peter Okeke, told newsmen on Sunday in Enugu that at the moment there was a need for divine intervention to calm the already heated national polity.
Okeke said that the three-day national fire conference, which is themed: "The Flaming Fire", would hold between Nov. 19 and Nov. 21 at the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) Chapel, Asata, Enugu.
The national coordinator noted that planning and preparation for the two major upcoming events were commendable, but taking care of the spiritual aspects of these events remained critical for overall success.
According to him, the para-military is the lead agencies or organizations responsible for internal security and the prayer conference would afford them the opportunity to carry out their duties effectively and have divine protection.
"We want to collectively seek the face of God in prayers and seek spiritual awakening ahead of upcoming 2027 General Elections and the Yuletide in the country.
"In seeking the face of God, we will seek his direction in going forward with the major upcoming events," he said.
Okeke said that renowned faith-based leaders within the para-military and non para-military organizations would feature in the conference to reawaken Christians to the role of "standing in the gap this season".
He revealed that apart from the planned intensive worship and prayer sessions, there would be award given to retired and serving para-military personnel towards the end of the conference.
"We want to appreciate para-military personnel, who have contributed to meritorious service to the nation in their departments and agencies as well as the para-military fellowship as well.
"We are also honouring some individuals in the society, whose service and positive character have touched and inspired the lives of others," he said.
The national coordinator urged members of the public as well as serving and retired para-military personnel to attend the unique and timely conference.
"With faith in God, we believe that over 150 participants would be coming from all over the country for the conference," he said.
Okeke revealed that the conference would hold during evening hours for the first two days, which is Thursday, Nov. 19 and Friday, Nov. 20; while it hold between 9a.m. and 3p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) Chapel, Asata, Enugu.
It would be recalled that the Nigeria Para-Military Christian Fellowship was formed by group of Christian believers who came together from all para-military formations and agencies.
They usually have fellowship together once a month and share in the burden of one another through prayers and counseling.
The Fellowship started in 2013, while it was incorporated with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2018.
In Nov. 2018, the Fellowship held a citywide crusade in Enugu to win souls for God's kingdom.
