Police advocacy group lauds school for engaging children in taekwondo

 

 

 

The Police Campaign Against Cultism And Other Vices (POCACOV), a police advocacy group, has lauded Enugu Taekwondo School for engaging and training children in taekwondo during the long school vocativacation National Coordinator of POCACOV, CSP Ebere Amaraizu, gave the commendation in Enugu on Monday while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the gains of the month-long training.

The month-long taekwondo training activity, which took place between Aug. 11 and Sept. 14, was for boys and girls between the ages of four and I6.sixIt was held at the indoor sports hall complex, Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu.

Amaraizu, who also is an Olympic Sports Administrator, lauded the efforts of Taekwondo Grandmaster, Dennis Ani, and his crew, on impacting children and youths on the essence of taekwondo as a sport and self-defensechanism.

He appreciated the state taekwondo board for the continual support and willingness to work with POCACOV to make our children and youths better for a functional Community.

According to him, taekwondo as a sport and self-defensechanism will surely strengthen these children and youths’ resilience to positive coping skills.

“Imbibing taekwondo tenets and values will make it difficult to yield to pressures of recruitment into membership of Organized Criminal Groups (OCGs), unlawful societies as well as other forms of vices among others.

“The long vacation taekwondo camp for children and youths was a good one.

“The training will give them speed, endurance, and strength to sustain their coping skills and they are good to go,” he said.

Amaraizu said that POCACOV would be part of the upcoming 3rd Edition of Enuthe gu State Taekwondo Poomsae Championship for children and youths around November, 223.

He noted that the championship would help the children and youth and promotion to various taekwondo belt statutes.
