The new Commissioner of Police in Enugu State, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, has tasked senior police officers on being focused and continually deliver on their policing responsibilities in the state.

“All supervisory officers and commanders of units and squads should brace up to deliver on the overall mandates of the Nigeria Police Force,” Uzuegbu gave the task on Monday in Enugu.

The commissioner gave the charge while delivery his lecture at the maiden conference with supervisory and senior police officers in the state held at the Senior Police Officers Mess, Agbani, Enugu.

The senior officers at the conference included: Command’s management team, area commanders, supervisory officers of operational formations and tactical teams, divisional police officers, and heads of sections and units.

Uzuegbu noted that, despite the challenging security situations of these times, the Command under his watch cannot afford to disappoint the good people of the state and Nigerians in general.

According to him, all senior officers and supervisors must be up and doing in order not to be caught up in vicarious liability.

The commissioner stressed the need for supervisory officers and senior officers to align themselves with the policing vision of the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mrr Kayode Egbetokun.

This, he said, would be done by ensure utmost professionalism, firmness, and respect for the fundamental rights of citizens in the discharge of their duties.

The CP also charged the officers on the need to entrench a policing pattern that is Grassroots-driven, Proactive, People-oriented and Problem-solving, adding that “This is what I code-name “G-3Ps”.

“G-3Ps policing thrust is aimed at enhancing public security and safety in the state,” he said.
